Charles Edward Barron Sr.

Charles Edward Barron Sr., 82, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Charlie was born Feb. 27, 1934 in Olney, to the late O.B. and Loraine (Holder) Barron. He graduated from Graham High School and Texas Tech University with a master’s degree in education. Charlie married Elva Lois Underwood in June 1980 in Seymour. He was superintendent of Seymour ISD and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Graham. Charlie was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all. He was devoted to the love of his life, his sons and his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors and was extremely active throughout his life. He relished telling stories about his hunting trips with his sons and grandsons. He was an avid golfer and sports fan with a lifelong devotion to the Texas Rangers and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. There are many special moments that everyone who knew him will cherish forever. His quick wit and laughing blue eyes were his identity along with his huge heart and kind soul. Survivors include his wife, Elva Lois Barron of Graham; sons, Chuck Barron of Wichita Falls and Andy Barron and wife, Stacy of Bentonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Blake, Ben, Marc and Scott Barron; and great-grandchildren, Keigan and Aiden Barron. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Third Generation, P.O.
